The 2026 American Music Awards are headed to Sin City in May and fans can already get their hands on tickets to the show.

CBS announced on April 14 that Taylor Swift leads the nominations for this year’s event with eight after the success of her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl. Unlike other awards shows, fans can attend the live event, which takes place on Memorial Day.

In addition to a possible appearance by Swift at the Las Vegas event, fans will get to see Queen Latifah back as the host after more than 30 years.

“I am so excited to return to the American Music Awards stage to host this year,” Latifah said in a statement. “It’s been an incredible year for music and there is no better place to celebrate than in Vegas.”

When Are the 2026 American Music Awards?

The 2026 AMAs will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. The show will broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the largest venue in the show’s history, after making the move from California to Nevada last year.

The awards show will be airing live on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Who Is Hosting the 2026 American Music Awards?

Queen Latifah is returning to the AMAs as the host for the first time since she emceed the event in 1995.

Who Has the Most 2026 American Music Award Nominations?

CBS announced on April 14 that Taylor Swift leads this year’s nominations with eight. Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter and SOMBR follow with seven nods each.

Swift is already the winningest artist in AMAs with a record-breaking 40 wins. For the 2026 awards show, she is nominated for Artist of the Year, Best Female Pop Artist, Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for The Life of a Showgirl. She is also up for Song of the Year, Best Music Video and Best Pop Song for “The Fate of Ophelia,” as well as Song of the Summer for “Elizabeth Taylor.”

First-time nominees Dean and SOMBR will go up against each other in the New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Breakthrough Album of the Year categories after leaving a big impression on the music world this past year.

Other first time nominees include Alex Warren, BigXthaPlug, KATSEYE, Leon Thomas, PinkPantheress, RAYE, Role Model, Sienna Spiro, Tate McRae and more.

How Do You Vote for the 2026 American Music Awards?

Fans can vote for their favorite artists on VoteAMAs.com and the @AMAs Instagram profile now. Voting closes on Friday, May 8, at 11:59:59 a.m. PT. The Social Song of the Year and Tour of the Year categories, however, will remain open through the first 30 minutes of the AMAs broadcast.

How Do You Get Tickets to the 2026 American Music Awards?

Unlike most awards shows, fans can purchase tickets and attend the AMAs. Tickets are currently on sale through AXS. Prices range from $156 for upper-level seating to around $259 for middle-level stubs and $460 for floor seats.

Doors open for the AMAs at 3:30 p.m. local time, with guests expected to be in their seats by 4:45 p.m. Late arrivals will be able to enter during commercial breaks.
