Steve’s back! When the description for Netflix’s Full House sequel series, Fuller House, was released earlier this year, many Tanner family devotees were dismayed to learn that not only was eldest daughter D.J. now a widow, she wasn’t even married to her Full House soul mate, Steve.
But there’s good news! Steve is returning, according to Scott Weinger, the actor who played the ’90s dreamboat on the ABC sitcom. Weinger, beloved to many as the voice of Disney’s Aladdin, has been working steadily for years as a successful TV writer of shows such as 90210, The Neighbors, Galavant, and Black-ish.
The actor/writer posted a photo from a table read of the new series, which began shooting this week.
So far, there are no hints as to how Steve will play into the story line of the new series, which revolves around single moms D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) as they raise their children together.

Other cast members confirmed to return are Jodie Sweetin, aka Stephanie Tanner, John Stamos, aka Uncle Jesse (have mercy!), Dave Coulier (Joey), and Tanner family patriarch Danny (Bob Saget).
Fuller House is set to premiere on Netflix in 2016.
