Oh, how we've missed that creepy music! David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson really are Mulder and Scully again, in this 15-second teaser for the upcoming X-Files reboot!
The trailer, which appeared during Thursday, July 16's Wayward Pines episode, shows (admittedly super-short) shots of everyone's favorite special agents reprising their famous roles in Fox's much anticipated six-episode comeback.
While the actual show won't air until January 2016, Duchovny and Anderson gave fans a tiny taste of what's to come with quick clips of themselves starring as their much-loved characters, shot through a spooky mist and with the TV series' evocative soundtrack playing behind.
Fox announced plans to bring the hit '90s television show back to life in March. "I think of it as a 13-year commercial break," exec-producer Chris Carter said in a statement at the time, referring to the fact that the show has been off air since 2002. "The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories."
While we have quite a wait to see Duchovny and Anderson reuniting up on the small screen next year, the stars gave us a sneaky reminder of how great they are together back in May, when they teamed up for a surprise musical duet at New York City's The Cutting Room — and even smooched one another on the lips!
