David Duchovny is a Golden Globe-winning actor best known for his role as Fox Mulder in The X-Files franchise. Duchovny spent his childhood in New York and graduated valedictorian at Manhattan’s Collegiate School. He later graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature in 1982.

Duchovny began acting in the late ‘80s with roles in films such as Working Girl (1988) and New Year’s Day (1989). In 1992, he landed the recurring role of Jake Winters on Red Shoe Diaries and the following year he went on to land his most famous role as FBI agent Mulder on The X-Files. He remained a cast member of the show until 2018 and has reprised the role in franchise spinoffs and video games.

In 2007, the actor was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Comedy or Musical for his portrayal of Hank Moody on the Showtime dramedy Californication. Some of his later notable appearances include roles in films like Pet Sematary: Bloodlines (2023) and on shows such as Better Things and Ten Year Old Tom.

The New York native married actress Tea Leoni in 1997, and the couple had two children together. The twosome jointly announced their split in June 2011, and the divorce was finalized in 2014. He later moved on with Monique Pendleberry in 2017, and the pair tied the knot in May 2025.
