‘Gilmore Girls’ Netflix Reboot First-Look Photos Hint at What Lorelai, Rory Are Up To Now

It’s like they never left! The much-anticipated Gilmore Girls Netflix reboot released its first-look photos via Entertainment Weekly on Thursday, April 7, giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming series.

In the images, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) cozy up for the ultimate nostalgic mother-daughter reunion.

One fun snap shows the pair sipping on coffees in a nod to the gals’ love for caffeine and conversation. Another shows Rory standing at the head of a classroom facing several rows of students (details of the series’ plot points have been kept under wraps, however).

The photos also allude to the state of Lorelai’s relationship with Luke (Scott Patterson) — and from the looks of it, the pair seem to be still happily in love.

Another major change in the upcoming reboot is the absence of Lorelai’s father, Richard Gilmore (Edward Herrmann, who died in 2014), leaving her mother, Emily (Kelly Bishop), a widow.

Fans of the hit series have been abuzz over the many teasers the actors have been dropping in the past few months. Most recently, Patterson shared a photo of himself with show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino on set, outside Luke’s Diner.

“Amy Sherman-Palladino and I comparing hats,” he captioned the picture. “She wins! #GilmoreGirls #GilmoreGirlsRevival @Netflix @WarnerBrosEnt.”

The original series ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007, and the reboot will play out in four 90-minute episodes and include several other Stars Hollow regulars, like Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki), Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) and Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry).
