Cameos, hookups, reunions, oh my! Glee went all out to celebrate its 100th episode Tuesday night, bringing back all of its original cast members, two fan-favorite guest stars, and a special tribute to a late friend. [Warning: Spoilers ahead!] What’s more, the FOX comedy also gave viewers what they’ve most likely been wishing for — a Quinn and Puck reconciliation and a Santana and Brittany reunion!
The kids of McKinley High all came back to the Glee club classroom to reminisce about the good times with throwback tunes they’ve all sang before. But while April (Kristin Chenoweth) and Holly (Gwyneth Paltrow) made appearances to try to help save the club from extinction, and while Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) had a diva-off, it was two past couples that really drew in the crowd.
Puck (Mark Salling) is in the military now, and stopped by not just to see his old friends, but to win back old flame Quinn (Dianna Agron). As fans recall, the twosome got together in Season 1 and had a daughter, Beth, that they later gave up for adoption. Unfortunately for Puck, Agron brought back her new boyfriend Biff (Chace Crawford). After ignoring her sexy Britney Spears “Toxic” routine alongside Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera), and revealing her true past to Biff, however, the pair split. Puck then told Quinn she was his soulmate, and the blonde stunner then ran after him in the hallway and the pair shared a passionate kiss.
Though a win for Quinn-Puck fans, the reconnection also turned out to be an emotional one for another reason. The back-on-again couple also shared a sweet moment paying tribute to their late friend Finn (Cory Monteith) standing next to his framed football jersey hanging on the wall. The series has continued to pay tribute to the late Canadian actor, recently singing U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” at nationals in the show’s 99th episode on March 11.
Glee’s monumental episode also ended with a bittersweet scene between Santana and Brittany. After Santana sang “Valerie” to take her mind off of her ex-girlfriend, the ladies shared a kiss that summoned up past memories. Brittany admitted Santana was the only person for her, as she subtly tried to get Santana to push her girlfriend Dani (Demi Lovato) out of her mind. So, was there a hallway kiss like Quinn and Puck? A walk into the sunset holding hands? Not exactly, but it did leave a door open for possibilities.
