Hilaria Baldwin isn’t ruling a run on Special Forces following her experience filming Nation’s Dumbest — but she might prefer to partner up with brother-in-law Stephen Baldwin instead of husband Alec Baldwin.
“Would [Alec and I] survive each other? That’s the question,” Hilaria, 42, quipped during an exclusive interview with Us, weighing in on the chance of her signing up for the Fox competition series. “I didn’t know they were doing couples on that.”
The yoga instructor recalled having “a brush with Special Forces,” adding, “It wasn’t at a time where I could. Because [before] this past year, I never left my kids before. I would literally only leave my kids to go into the hospital to have another kid. Literally.”
After initially choosing opportunities that would keep her close to home, Hilaria — who shares seven kids with Alec — has been branching out.
“To go away without my kids was a really big deal. I did it a couple times this year for different projects,” she noted. “So I can see myself at that point.”
Hilaria also heard great things about Special Forces — which brings celebrities to harsh environments around the world in military-style training exercises — from her Nation’s Dumbest costars. “JoJo Siwa has done it,” she added. “So I don’t know. Maybe they’ll call again at a different point in my life. JoJo says her life changed for the better and it’s just such an intense, incredible experience.”
In the event Hilaria does get the call, she isn’t sure whether she would take on the challenge with Alec, 68, by her side, telling Us, “We’ll leave Alec at home. I’ll do it with Stephen. Like Stephen, you’re coming back for another season.”
Alec’s brother previously competed on season 3 of Special Forces, which has also featured couples including Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker.
Hilaria, meanwhile, has been excited by the gigs she has taken on while balancing being present for her kids. Nation’s Dumbest, for example, gave Hilaria the chance to try something new outside of her household.
The show debuted earlier this month and is described as “a proven format across multiple international territories, channels celebrities’ inner school spirit as they head back to summer school, facing a mix of brain-teasing tasks, fast-paced physical challenges, and long-buried classroom knowledge.”
Each week, “the ‘smartest’ celebrity graduates, narrowing the field until a high-stakes final exam determines who will be left standing with the distinction no one wants — the title of The Nation’s Dumbest.”
While speaking with Us, Hilaria admitted that joining the cast came with its challenges.
“I was a student that had to work really hard [when I was in school]. So I have ADHD and dyslexia and I was very ashamed of this at different times,” she recalled. “I wasn’t the most social person and I would just have to work much harder than the average person. Doing a show like this was a little scary for me, to be honest, because I think that I’ve grown so much. But I definitely had my moments where I’m like, ‘Oh no, all the trauma’s coming back.'”
