Love Island USA viewers might be feeling a sense of déjà vu with season 8 islander Zach Georgiou — and that’s because he shares a connection with alum Charlie Georgiou.
During the Tuesday, June 2, premiere, Zach confirmed that his older brother appeared in season 7 but didn’t make it far with love interest Hannah Fields. Zach, meanwhile, was determined to avoid the same fate as he explored a new connection with Kenzie Annis.
The romance with Zach and Kenzie didn’t last long though. By the end of Tuesday’s episode — a.k.a the second day in the villa — Zach mentioned several times that he never dated women with blonde hair because he preferred “darker features.”
Host Ariana Madix offered islanders the chance to back out of their couples. Zach took the opportunity and left with bombshell Kayda Bosse while Kenzie made it clear she wanted to keep exploring her connection with Zach — not knowing that he was taken to The Hideaway.
Charlie, for his part, entered the villa in season 7 as a bombshell. He built a bond with Hannah that ultimately came to an end when he was eliminated — and she stayed behind.
“The emotions are real. I was devastated when I got back to the hotel and I decompressed and all the adrenaline was gone. I was all over the place,” he exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2025 about leaving Hannah behind, who then had a viral moment while crying over a photo of them together. “The photo [Hannah had], I’d actually given it to her. I came out and I said, ‘Listen, take this.'”
He continued: “And she cried on our bed. People don’t understand that conversation we had. It was condensed down. We had a beautiful, long conversation unraveling each other’s brains and where we were at.”
At the time, Charlie clarified there was no ill will about Hannah not leaving with him. (She later coupled up with Pepe Garcia but that fizzled out as well.)
“No. Look, Love Island is such a rare, unique experience that just because I was robbed of it doesn’t mean she should be robbed of it, too,” he added. “We were just on that verge — had it been another week or two — she might have felt that way or maybe it would’ve been different. But I can’t judge her or blame her. It never crossed my mind.”
In addition to Kenzie, Kayda and Charlie’s brother, Zach, looking for love, season 8 also features Aniya Harvey, Beatriz Hatz, Bryce Alakai Dettloff, Gabriel Vasconcelos, KC Chandler, Melanie Moreno, Sincere Rhea, Sean Reifel, Trinity Tatum and new bombshell Gabriel Vasconcelos.
