His best rock star impersonation yet! Jimmy Fallon showed off his serious side in a behind-the-scenes clip from the Tonight Show on Monday, March 21. The comedian performed a cover of David Bowie’s “Life on Mars?,” with Chris Martin backing him up on the piano.
The Coldplay frontman, 39, left the singing completely to Fallon, who sounded almost exactly like the late British rocker. At the very end of the video, the late-night host, 41, gives Martin a pat on the back and says, “Well, you keep working on it.”
While Fallon has covered Bowie’s songs before, it’s never been quite so impressive. He turned “Space Oddity” into a parody about Tim Tebow back in 2012. Several other celebs have also paid tribute to Bowie following his January 10 death, including Lady Gaga, who channeled Ziggy Stardust in her 2016 Grammys performance. The iconic musician had been privately battling cancer. He was 69.
