What’s worse — getting hurt on the field or getting bashed on social media? Jimmy Kimmel continued the success of his Mean Tweets segment with another round (this time an NFL edition!) during Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, Sept. 4. Stars like Michael Strahan, Erin Andrews and Keyshawn Johnson got pummeled with rude comments that somehow put a smile on some of their faces.
Most players were teased about their gaming abilities or injuries. Live! with Kelly and Michael co-host and former NFL hall of fame player Strahan, however, was picked on for his looks.
“Michael Strahan’s teeth are having a middle school dance, where the boys stand on one side of the room and girls stand on the other,” the tweet said.
The same went for former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Johnson. “Keyshawn Johnson must’ve ate the guys who used to cover him. Fat bastard,” he read.
As for Washington Redskins star DeSean Jackson, he apparently needs to shop at different clothing stores. “DeSean Jackson seems like no matter how much money he makes he won’t stop shopping at Express,” his tweet stated.
Fox sportscaster Andrews also took some heat. “Hopefully a ball to your temple will knock the stupid out of you,” a tweeter wrote.
Other NFL stars in the special Mean Tweets edition included Terrell Owens, Dwight Freeney, Dashon Goldson, Dez Bryant, Clay Matthews, and Malcolm Smith.
