At last, some good news for Katie Holmes and the cast and crew of The Kennedys!

After the History Channel eighty-sixed the controversial, $30 million miniseries about the political dynasty three weeks ago, fledgling cable network ReelzChannel will premiere the epic April 3, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

Starring Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy and Holmes as First Lady Jackie Kennedy, the ambitious miniseries — The History Channel's first planned foray into scripted drama — was dumped by History in early January following reported pressure from the famous family.

"We have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand," a network rep said Jan. 7.

Explained ReelzChannel CEO Stan Hubbard to THR: "One of the benefits of being an independent network is that you can be an independent voice and you don’t have to worry about corporate pressure or political pressure,. This is a project that deserves to be seen."
