Way to make Us miss Capeside! Katie Homes waxed nostalgic on Instagram on July 16, marking Throwback Thursday with a 1998 #TBT from her Joey Potter days, a Rolling Stone cover proclaiming her “the Sweetheart of Dawson’s Creek.”
“#TBT the tire swing!” Suri Cruise’s mom, 36, captioned her cover shot from the mag’s Sept. 17, 1998, Big Teen TV Special issue, which featured the cover girl in a tank top and denim cutoffs swinging on a tire swing off a dock.
As much as she appreciates her time on the long-running WB teen soap, Holmes isn’t necessarily up for a reunion a la Full House. “I don’t know, does it work today?” Holmes reasoned to Yahoo! Style‘s Joe Zee in May. “I don’t want them to grow up. You know, it’s kind of like your parents — they never get out of their fifties, that’s where they are.”
Holmes appeared as girl next door Joey Potter for six seasons from 1998 to 2003, appearing alongside James Van Der Beek (Dawson Leery), Michelle Williams (Jen Lindley), Joshua Jackson (Pacey Witter), and Kerr Smith (Jack McPhee), leaving adoring female fans wondering which of the sexy leading Creek guys – Dawson or Pacey – her sweet, shy character would end up with. (Spoiler alert: It was Pacey.)
“We just did it, we all enjoyed it,” Ray Donovan‘s Holmes said of the five years she and her castmates spent on the show. “It was of a certain time, it was pre-Internet. There was an innocence there.”
