Katy Perry Dresses Like Witch, Gets Burned at the Stake During “Dark Horse” Grammys 2014 Performance

Witch hunt! Katy Perry went all out for her performance of "Dark Horse" at the 2014 Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in L.A. on Sunday, Jan. 26. The 29-year-old singer took the stage dressed like a witch for the dark and mysterious performance.

Perry's set design looked like a haunted forest with lots of smoke machines. The pop singer wore a a black-and-purple dress with a red cross across her chest, and her long black hair down. Towards the end of her performance, the Perry, surrounded by a ring of fire, appeared to be burned at the stake.

On the red carpet, Perry told E!'s Ryan Seacrest that her performance was "kind of inspired" by Stevie Nicks. "Let's just say, one of my favorite lines: 'Which witch is which?'" she teased about what to expect from her show number. "It's very spooky. It's very dark." Nicks, 65, told Us Weekly that she and Perry recently met up in London for a three-hour girl talk.

"It's kind of a juxtaposition," the pop singer previously explained to MTV News of the track. "It's got me, a pop artist, with a little bit of an urban kind of hip-hop-flavored background soundtrack to it, and the lyrics are kind of witchy and dark, as if I was a witch warning this man not to fall in love with me, and, if you do, know I'm going to be your last."
