The claws are coming out on Sunday, February 7! And we don’t mean between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl. Hallmark Channel is hosting its own su-purr event — Kitten Bowl III — which will feature adorable baby felines pouncing, playing, purring and of course napping — in an arena of their own.
“What’s cuter than kittens frolicking on a field?” host Beth Stern exclaims to Us Weekly.
And there’s reason for fans to get excited about this year’s furry event. “I learned a lot my first year,” Feline Football League Commissioner Boomer Esiason tells Us. “I’m trying to bring that experience to making this year’s Kitten Bowl III bigger, better and even more exciting than ever!”
While the kittens will certainly entertain on screen, the fuzzy little players will also be bringing joy to homes. Hallmark Channel is once again working with the North Shore Animal League America, for which animal-lover Stern serves as spokeswoman, and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation to place all the kittens in forever homes after the big game.
“100 animals are going to get adopted when we’re finished,” Stern tells Us.
