The Kardashians take Cuba! By which we mean Kuba, obviously. America’s First Reality Family flew to Havana during the Sunday, July 31, episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and they packed a whole lot of drama with them. So, what went down? Oh, ya know, Khloé Kardashian being stressed that Lamar Odom was on a downward spiral, and Kanye West saying the most Kanye West things ever. In other words, the usual.
BTW, it should be noted that none of the Kardashians had phone or internet service in Cuba, which caused many panic attacks. To quote Khloé: “The fact that I can’t use my phone does disturb me.” Literally, what is life without Twitter?
Kourtney Stresses About the Zika Virus
Kourtney Kardashian is the family’s resident health nut, and she was pretty stressed about contracting Zika. “I don’t mess with real bug spray, but I’m not taking a chance,” she told her crew. “We, like, doused ourselves because I don’t wanna get the Zika.”
Meanwhile, Khloé had a slightly more R-rated take on the subject, saying, “I’ve already been bitten and I have Zikia or whatever the f–k it is.” All-righty then, moving on.
Kris Jenner Donates Makeup, Harasses Kylie
And none for Kris Jenner! Everyone’s favorite momager was stuck in Los Angeles while her kids enjoyed Cuba, and she basically couldn’t even. The good news is that Kris managed to get her charity on while her brood were preoccupied! By which we mean she told her assistant the following and it was iconic: “We’d like to give all the Kardashian Beauty stuff that we have to the underprivileged women downtown for Mother’s Day.”
Also notable, Kris got confused when using a bread knife and called it a “surrogated edge” instead of a “serrated edge.” Meanwhile Corey Gamble called it a “segregated edge.” Kylie Jenner had to correct them both. Bless.
Khloé Stresses About Lamar Going “Back into the Gutter”
Khloé had a great time in Cuba, but she was stressed about leaving Lamar. Makes sense — between booking him dermatologist appointments, manicurists and massages, he’s pretty dependent on her. However, Khloé was concerned that Lamar would go back to bad habits when she found out he’d asked for money, saying she worried he’d use it to “run away.” “Every time I would leave town when we were married this would happen,” the Strong Looks Better Naked author told her best friend, Malika Haqq. This gal’s thoughts? “You can’t control him. You wanna try to do the best, but, honey, if he wants to run himself back into the gutter, he’s gonna do just that.”
Later, Khloé told Kanye and Kim Kardashian that Lamar started going downhill after he stopped playing for the Clippers, and Kim was clearly worried about her sister’s stress levels. “I wish she wouldn’t put that much weight of this whole situation on her shoulders,” Kim said. “It just breaks my heart because it’s the same cycle all over again. It just really sucks.”
Kanye Says He Likes Being Spoken to Like a Child
Things the Kardashian and their squad said in and around Cuba: 1) “So, the goats are like, people’s dogs almost!” 2) “I like these weird colors!” 3) “Copping a squat is my thing!”
Amazing, we know, but the most hilarious moment came when Kanye unveiled his personal cameraman to the world, some random #youth who’s apparently been hired to film him at all times. Kanye was all about giving this dude art direction while in Cuba, at one point saying, “I think when you film, you should film with the camera in.” #Genius
“Kanye always has his eye out for a young generation of really creative people,” Kim explained. “Kanye’s been working with this young filmmaker who is videoing everything that Kanye is doing.”
Speaking of Kanye, Kourtney asked her brother-in-law how he felt about the blue contacts he wore to the Met Gala, and he somewhat jokingly accused her of talking to him like a child. However, he also said that’s “the way I like to be communicated with, anyway.” So … good times.
