Who’s your favorite daughter, Mom? Lauren Graham was put in quite the predicament at this weekend’s ATX Television Festival when her two best-known TV daughters finally met for the first time.
Actress Mae Whitman, who played Amber, the daughter of Graham’s Sarah on Parenthood, posted the funny photo of her encounter with Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel on Twitter on Monday, June 8.
“AT LONG LAST WE MEET #drawyourswords #breaktheinternet,” Whitman, 26, captioned the pic of the two on-screen daughters standing back-to-back with a faux concerned-looking Graham in the middle.
Whitman later joked: “JK YALL!!!! We decided to adopt each other!!! Rory and Amber Bravermore!!!”
Bledel, 33, played Graham’s daughter Rory Gilmore on the beloved series Gilmore Girls, which had a massive cast reunion on Saturday, June 6. She and her former TV mom joined fellow Gilmore Girls alums, including creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, Scott Patterson, and more, to chat about the beloved series and rumors of a possible reboot.
Whitman, meanwhile, was in Texas to do a dramatic, gender-swapping reading of Dawson’s Creek at a panel for the ATX Television Festival, with Patrick J. Adams and Abigail Spencer, among others.
The Parenthood actress has previously admitted to not watching Gilmore Girls, according to her costar and pal Sarah Ramos, who told the Gilmore Guys podcast that Whitman doesn’t want to see Graham parent another kid on TV.
“I get so protective when Lauren Graham has any other TV kids,” Whitman told Us Weekly at the festival. “I see Alexis Bledel and my heart goes into a seizure.”
