Liz Wilcox came up short on Survivor 46, finishing in fourth place. But she will forever be remembered in Survivor history for her legendary Applebee’s rant — and she offered to reprise her role as “Applebee’s Queen” on Survivor 50.
Liz, 35, appeared on “The Survivor 50 Files,” part of the “Rob Has a Podcast” podcast network, where she described auditioning to return to Fiji to be a waitress for the classic reward.
“I made, like, a 45-second video, and I was like, ‘Hello, my name is Liz Wilcox, I was on Season 46 of Survivor,’” she said. “‘I’m now known for being this Applebee’s queen, Applebee’s mascot. I am applying for the position of Applebee’s waitress for that reward on Season 50.’”
She likened the video to a Survivor audition tape that hopeful first-time castaways make, but Liz said she never heard back from CBS.
Liz’s famous outburst came in the 10th episode of Season 46, which aired in 2024. Her castmate Q Burdette won an Applebee’s-themed reward challenge and did not choose Liz to accompany her.
Liz suffers from a variety of food allergies, which she claims made it especially hard for her to survive on the island. She is also a fan of Applebee’s, and as she explained on the episode, her go-to order is their bourbon burger — the exact meal the reward offered.
After Q, 29, decided not to include Liz, she began to cry. Host Jeff Probst asked her to share how she was feeling, and through her tears, she screamed, “I’m pissed.”
“Q, you almost blew up my whole game,” she yelled. “You overshadowed everything I was trying to do and I said, ‘It’s cool.’ I didn’t say nothing. I don’t even want to be around you.”
“Thank y’all for letting me have that,” she continued. “I feel better. I just exploded. I’m sorry, back to your regularly scheduled program. I haven’t eaten since the merge. I have had zero calories since the merge. I don’t even think I screamed that hard during my divorce.”
Two years after that moment was filmed, Liz can look back on it with a sense of humor. The idea to return for the reward in Season 50 — an all-returnees season billed as a celebration of all eras of the show — came to her while she was going for a run.
“Wouldn’t that be hysterical?” she said. “I knew they’re gonna pick Q to be on 50, wouldn’t that just be so funny?”
As it turns out, Q was selected for Survivor 50, which finished filming in June and is set to air in early 2026. Liz, for her part, had no interest in returning to Fiji as anything more than an Applebee’s waitress.
“I did not want to be on Season 50,” she said. “I am still recovering physically from the show. I think I’ve been home two years and one day now, and I feel like my hair is just now getting back and curly again.”
