Love Is Blind season 11 is off to a rocky start for some podsters, after Sarah overhears suitor John admit she’s one of his “bottom” matches.
In Us’ exclusive sneak peek at the Wednesday, October 14, premiere of the Boston-based season Sarah and John appear to be hitting it off after talking about their musical interests.
“I’m a big The Fray fan,” John, 33, tells Sarah, 34, as reflects on his No. 1 song from his Spotify Unwrapped playlist. “I saw them actually a few weeks ago.”
After Sarah, a health care manager, notes, “I like The Fray,” she asks her possible love interest whether he goes to a lot of concerts.
“Not really. But it’s something I really want to do. It’s why I’m here. I want someone to go to things with,” John reveals. “I keep coming back to The Fray, but I think it’s a perfect example of, like, I went with a lesbian couple to see The Fray. So, I really want someone, like, to do stuff like that with.”
Sarah laughs, which seemingly puts John, an account executive, even more at ease. “Really excited to talk to you tomorrow, Sarah. Have a good night,” he tells her.
“Thank you, you too,” she responds.
As Sarah is finishing up her notes in her notebook about the conversation, John exits his pod and forgets to close the door as he meets up with the other men in the hallway.
“Not the people I expected, dude. My bottom people I talked to,” John tells one of the guys unaware that Sarah can still hear him.
“How’d it go?” the guy asks, to which John responds, “Great.”
The other contestant notes, “Isn’t that kinda crazy?” and John agrees, “Yeah.”
As the two continue to chat, another voice can be heard reminding all the men, “Need to close the door” and then the portal to Sarah’s pod finally shuts.
“They’re so stupid, they keep the door open,” Sarah tells one of the other women after she leaves the room herself, confirming that it was John who left it ajar. “I overheard him saying I was one of his bottom two.”
During her confessional, Sarah tells viewers that she was well aware of what John was saying about her — and listened to every awkward second.
“The door to the pod was open and I overheard John saying that he had spoken to someone who he wasn’t that interested in,” she confesses. “Then someone asked him how it went and he said, ‘Good.’ And it was me.”
Season 11 of Love Is Blind premieres on Netflix Wednesday, October 14.
