Update: Jay Z’s new music streaming service Tidal is officially live. The rapper, along with his wife Beyonce, Usher, Rihanna, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, J.Cole, and more attended a launch event — which was dramatically live-streamed on the futuristic app’s new site Tidal.com — on Monday, March 30, at the Skylight at Moynihan Station in New York City.

After signing a document pledging to the new venture — and standing awkwardly amongst each other for a photo op while Hunger Games-esque played — a longer video of the musical prodigies streamed on the site. In the video, Beyonce can be heard explaining Tidal is for the fans, while Madonna connects the service with bring art back to art. Click here to watch the entire press conference and video.

The state of the celebrity union has never been stronger. Jay Z held one seriously impressive meeting of the minds for his new streaming service Tidal, enlisting a laundry list of big-name stars.

Promoting full details on the platform on Monday evening, Hov, 45, introduced Tidal with a star-studded ad. The clip opens with a shot of Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter walking in the sunlight in his trademark futuristic helmet.

He is soon joined by the likes of Chris Martin, Jason Aldean, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj, toting an entourage with her as only she can. The star power just increases as Jack White takes a seat, Calvin Harris joins, and Madonna sits down next to Minaj, leaning over for a kiss on the cheek. 

Meeting in Los Angeles, the stars speak via video conferencing to Alicia Keys, Usher, and Arcade Fire’s Win Butler. Jay Z’s longtime collaborator Kanye West and wife Beyonce make their necessary introductions, catching up with the table of heavyweights.

The music service is already receiving huge support from those in the video and otherwise, many of whom have changed their social media avatars to the same shade of sea blue to promote the brand.
