Melissa Peterman is thriving on Happy’s Place, but is there a chance she could reprise her role as Bonnie in a Baby Daddy revival?

“We all would love a reboot or a revival — or even a short limited series,” Peterman, 55, exclusively told Us at the Dance Party to End ALZ benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association on Sunday, September 13. “I would love to see them.”

Peterman said costar Derek Theler would be “the captain” of bringing the show back, adding, “I don’t know where it’s at right now. All I do [know] is when they say [it is happening], I say yes.”

She continued: “I want to be Bonnie Wheeler again. I loved her because she was this woman who had a lot of baggage. She had no business walking into every room with the utmost confidence, and I love that [creator] Dan Berendsen gave this woman up, who was over 40, who walked into every room expecting that everyone would be delighted to talk to her, and I love that. So, it was so much fun.”

Before joining Happy’s Place, Peterman had very memorable roles as Barbra Jean on Reba, Bonnie on Baby Daddy and Brenda in The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon. Baby Daddy, which aired on Freeform from 2012 to 2017, followed a man (Jean-Luc Bilodeau) raising a baby after a one-night stand with help from his friends, brother (Theler) and mom (Peterman). In addition to Peterman, Bilodeau, Theler and Tahj Mowry, Baby Daddy starred Chelsea Kane and Peter Porte.

“It doesn’t feel that long ago because I’ve actually been watching clips of it again because it’s still so funny. It holds up,” Peterman gushed to Us. “And I’m best friends with Peter Porte, who played my boyfriend and TV husband.”

Peterman was thrilled about the bond the cast managed to form.

“I officiated the wedding of both of my TV sons, Derek and Jean Luc. Me and Chelsea have stayed in touch. We’re all in touch. We’re on a group text,” she shared. “It doesn’t feel that long ago. But you know what? I’m very lucky. I like to think I’ve been on shows that when I watch them now, they hold up. They’re holding up.”

In addition to a potential Baby Daddy reunion, Peterman has had the chance to cross paths with former costars on the set of Happy’s Place. Peterman spoke to Us about sharing the screen with James Denton in season 3 after he previously appeared on Reba.

“We already announced that he’s there. We’ve already shot that episode, and I have to say this: When he first did an episode of Reba, I was so starstruck, and I was just giddy around him,” she recalled. “That Desperate Housewives [show] was the biggest thing on the planet. He could not have been more nice and down-to-earth then.”

Peterman “was still a fangirl” after working with Denton again now. “I was just as giddy, and he was just as kind,” she continued. “And you know what? He is still handsome. It’s a really good episode.”

She concluded: “I’ve been really, really lucky because they brought over so many of our favorites. We got Jane Lynch. We’ve had so many amazing people that have come. We’ve had Steve [Howey]. We’ve had JoAnna [Garcia Swisher]. I would like one of my Baby Daddy boys. I would love to have them come visit Happy’s Place. I think they’d be phenomenal.”
