This past April, moviegoers around the world couldn’t stop until they got enough of Michael, the hit musical biography of the late pop singer Michael Jackson.

The biopic moonwalked its way to a boatload of cash and reinvigorated interest in the singer’s music, with several of his original albums and songs landing on Billboard‘s top 10 chart.

It’s about time spring movies start showing up on streaming services, like fellow hit Project Hail Mary did on Prime Video earlier this month.

Now it’s Michael’s turn, and Watch With Us has all the details on when and where you can stream – and if it’s worth watching at home.

Is ‘Michael’ Worth Streaming?

If you’re an MJ fan, then yes. Michael delivers everything you want in a rags-to-riches biopic tale: a good lead performance from Jaafar Jackson, who imitates Jackson’s smooth dance moves very well; a decent depiction of the ‘70s and ‘80s music scene that Jackson gradually conquered; and, of course, the hits. From early Jackson 5 hits like “I Want You Back” to Jackson’s many solo hits like “Thriller” and “Bad,’ the film includes many of the hit Michael Jackson songs that made him a star in his day and a legend after his untimely death in 2009.

The film itself is just ok. Michael holds a low 38 percent critical score on Rotten Tomatoes, with many finding fault in the generic story, stilted supporting performances and whitewashing of some of the singer’s controversies. It still has an outside shot of landing a few Oscar nominations in 2027, including one for Best Picture. It’s also the only biopic to gross over 1 billion dollars at the worldwide box office, beating such Oscar winners as Oppenheimer and Bohemian Rhapsody.
