The Voice coach, 23, was happy to help DeGeneres, 58, out — and even dressed the part. "I know all of you came to see Ellen, so I’m gonna do my best to make you very happy," Cyrus said. "I'm dressed like her, I smell like her, just before I came out here I actually kissed a girl."Check out Cyrus in action in the video clip above!
Cyrus wore a white button-down and jean jacket for her hosting debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Ellen will be fine, but she's just not feeling well," she explained to the audience. "So, she asked me to fill in. And, of course, I said yes for my girl Ellen. And I gave her a bunch of Molly to make her feel better. It's working!"
Cyrus impressed with her monologue, but she did admit the pressure was a bit nerve-racking. "I’ve never hosted a show with my clothes on before," she joked. "So this is so weird." (Cyrus wore pasties when she hosted the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.)
DeGeneres, meanwhile, will be back in no time. The Emmy-winning star, who rarely misses a day of work, last called out sick in January 2014 when she had the flu. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Ellie Kemper took over for her at the time.
