‘Nashville’ Just Dropped a Surprise Trailer for Season 5: Watch!

Nashville is back, y'all! CMT dropped the first trailer for season 5 of the drama on Tuesday, September 20 — and it features all of Bluebird Cafe's regulars.

The preview teases what's to come for country music's finest, including frenemies-turned-pals Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) and Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere). It also features series regulars Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne), Clare Bowen (Scarlett O'Connor), Jonathan Jackson (Avery Barkley) and Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott).

"What would you change?" Rayna says in the 15-second sneak peek. Deacon replies: "Everything."

As previously reported, ABC axed Nashville in May ahead of its season 4 finale. The following month, fans went nuts when CMT picked it up. (In the last episode, Juliette's plane went missing and Rayna and Deacon were not on the best of terms.)

Back in June, it was confirmed that Britton and Panettiere (who briefly left season 4 to enter rehab for postpartum depression) were reprising their roles. However, according to Entertainment Weekly, Britton has only signed on for 10 out of the 22 episodes so far.

In May, ABC executives revealed why they decided to cut Nashville. "Internally on the network side, it was kind of the best fit for things on the schedule — obviously looking at ratings, looking at our own finances and looking at some of the new development," president Channing Dungey said during an upfronts conference call with reporters. "A lot of the decisions really did come down to the wire, which is the difficult thing about these jobs."

Nashville returns on CMT on January 5 and will be available on Hulu.
