Dancing Stormtroopers, “magic Meryl F’ing Streep,” and Jack Black? Oscars 2015 host Neil Patrick Harris jumped right in on Sunday, Feb. 22, kicking off the show with an original musical number.
The show tune, penned by Frozen Oscar-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, titled “Moving Pictures,” featured the vocal stylings of Into the Woods star Anna Kendrick and funnyman Jack Black.
The Goosebumps actor, 45, went on a crazy rock-infused rant before Kendrick, 29, told him to get off the stage, throwing her Jimmy Choo stiletto at him.
“Moving pictures, millions of pixels on screens,” Harris, 41, sang, closing out the number. “They may not be real life, but they’ll show you what life really means. More than any one image, more than any one star, truly, moving pictures shape who we are.”
