NeNe Leakes is exclusively opening up to Us about the possibility of returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta after being welcomed back to the Bravoverse.
“So… I can’t tell,” Nene, 58, recently told Us on the blue carpet for a National PrEP Day event in West Hollywood when asked about a RHOA comeback.
The OG peachholder added, “What would it take for me to go back? I think it would be very easy to just have a sit-down conversation. That’s it.”
NeNe was an integral member of the original RHOA cast when it premiered in October 2008, alongside fellow Housewives Sheree Whitfield, DeShawn Snow, Lisa Wu and Kim Zolciak. Her breakout success on Bravo propelled her to Hollywood acting roles in Ryan Murphy‘s Glee and The New Normal as well as Broadway stints in Cinderella and Chicago.

She entered into a contentious legal battle with Bravo following her RHOA exit in 2020 before finally being welcomed back for an extended cameo in Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th earlier this year as part of the Real Housewives franchise’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
Speaking to Us, Nene touched on which Housewives she’d like to work with if she does return to RHOA in the future.
“We’ve had some really great girls over the years to be on Housewives. So, I mean, whoever wants to do it with me, I will be open to it,” she revealed. “Some of the girls are like, ‘I don’t know if I want to work with Nene.’ … [I’d work with] anybody!”
The reality TV icon’s longtime Real Housewives of Atlanta costar Porsha Williams exclusively told Us in August that she was “very hopeful” about the possibility of Nene returning to the franchise.
“We’ve got a great cast,” Porsha, 45, told Us in August at the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip 20th Anniversary Event. “But yeah, me personally, yes, I would love for NeNe to come back.”
NeNe was looking as glamorous ever in West Hollywood on Saturday, October, 10, to celebrate National PrEP Day, an annual event aiming to raise awareness about HIV-AIDS prevention. The event is sponsored by PrEP, a prescription medication that can be used by HIV-negative people to significantly reduce the risk of contracting the virus through sexual contact or injection drug use.
“[PrEP is] free medication. I didn’t even know it was free,” NeNe pointed out. “OK, so it’s free. It’s very important that we speak vocally about the prevention of HIV. … When I grew up in my household, my parents did not talk openly to us about sex and the prevention of anything when it came down to sex. It was sort of like a shy thing.”
She went on to say, “I just think that [my parents] didn’t want to talk to us about it. I don’t think they meant to hurt us in any kind of way. I just think that they were like, ‘We don’t need to talk to them about sex. We don’t need to talk to them about diseases. We don’t need to talk to them about anything.’ So it’s important to be vocal about it. … I’m very happy that they are having me here today.”
All 17 seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta are available to stream via Peacock.
