Nick Jonas Previews Scream Queens: My Character Is a “Prick,” But Fun to Play

Nick Jonas is ready to scream with a whole bunch of queens! Joe and Kevin‘s younger brother is set to join Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Ariana Grande, and Jamie Lee Curtis in Ryan Murphy‘s Scream Queens, and the “Chains” hunk tells HuffPost Live that fans can expect lots and lots of drama.

Jonas, 22, wont reveal too much for fear of creator Murphy’s wrath (“He watches everything we do” to ensure no leaks, said the actor) but confirmed that his character in definitely worth watching. “[My character] touches on the prick side. It’s very fun to play,” Jonas told HuffPost Live in an interview Thursday, June 11. “Ryan is a visionary and I’ve known Emma for a long time. It’s an exciting new journey.”

In the meantime, Jonas continues to appear on DirecTV’s Kingdom as gay boxer Nate, and told HuffPost Live he likes to stay in shape whether he’s filming or not.

“I usually make pretty healthy choices,” Jonas told a HuffPost Live fan who was curious about his cheat meal. “There are some pizzas and donuts that slip through the cracks, but I have to be smart about it because of my diabetes. It’s easier in that way [not to indulge]. I’m not a huge junk food fan, but occasionally I’ll get some salt and vinegar chips, and that’ll do it.”

But don’t clear out your pantry and box up snacks for the singer! “Don’t get me chips, anybody. What happens when I say things is that when people meet me, fans are like ‘Here’s a bucket of chips.’ I can’t eat them!”
