Gotcha! The mastermind behind the “Worst Twerk Fail Ever” video back in September is the same one behind Olympian Kate Hansen‘s “Epic #SochiFail” video: Jimmy Kimmel.
Sandy Caligiore, a publicist for the United States Luge Association, confirmed to Inside Edition on Thursday, Feb. 20 that the 46-year-old Jimmy Kimmel Live! host created the hoax with the help of the 21-year-old American Olympic luger. (Kimmel has yet to confess that the video belongs to him.)
Hansen made headlines on Thursday when she posted a video on Twitter titled “Epic SochiFail: Wolf in my hall.” She added in the caption: “I’m pretty sure this is a wolf wandering my hall in Sochi.” In the YouTube video, a wolf is filmed roaming a hall while a camera films it from behind a slightly opened door.
Kimmel previously orchestrated an elaborate hoax back in September. A video went viral of a young woman named Caitlin Heller standing on her head twerking against a door, falling onto a table full of candles, and catching fire. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host revealed in “unaired” footage that he was in on the prank by entering the room and extinguishing the flames.
