Wham! Chris Rock jokingly compared Sam Smith to George Michael during the 88th Academy Awards on Sunday, February 28. After slimmed-down singer Smith performed his Oscar-nominated track, "Writing's on the Wall," from Spectre, the awards show host gave Michael a shout-out.
“Yeah! Amazing. Hey, hey, my favorite song is ‘Father Figure,’” Rock, 51, quipped after Smith’s performance, referring to Michael’s 1987 track.
The British singer has shed pounds by following a strict diet. Last March, he revealed he dropped 14 pounds in just two weeks.
"I met a woman who has completely changed my life," Smith, 23, wrote on Instagram in March. "Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food. Everyone go check out her incredible book, and start to live healthy. It's not even about weight loss it's about feeling happy in yourself. Love you Amelia & thank you for making me feel so happy inside and out @ameliafreer #eatnourishglow."
Freer told Good Morning America at the time that Smith focuses on “cooking from scratch” and “not relying on junk processed convenience food.”
