Only in our dreams!

Debbie Gibson and Tiffany reunited on the red carpet at NYC's Ziegfeld Theater on Monday.  Teen pop rivals back in the 1980s, Gibson, now 40, and Tiffany, now 39, joined forces for the new Syfy network flick Mega Python vs. Gatoroid.

The campy flick features at least one cat-fight royal between the "Lost in Your Eyes" and "I Think We're Alone Now" singers.

As it turns out, the stars barely knew each other before shooting began. "We've crossed paths over the years, but we never got to really know each other," Gibson told UsMagazine.com.

Added Jersey girl Tiffany (real name: Tiffany Renee Darwish): "We never really spent time together."

"The rivalry was like a media fabricated thing like Britney and Christina," Gibson insisted, "and I've always thought very highly of her as a singer…We got to hang out and get to know each other as women at this point which was fun."

"We have more in common than just the entertainment business," Tiffany added. "We've grown up as women and it's really nice that I can have my pal that I can talk to about other things!"

Not that their onscreen brawl wasn't a blast. "We had a good time with it with people expecting us to be rivals and stuff," Tiffany admitted. "We just played it up. We're big hams!"
