Pretty Little Liars’ Opening Credits Now Include One More Face; Plus, There’s a New Head Shusher!

New secret, couldn’t keep it! Pretty Little Liars returns to our TV screens Jan. 12, and as we all know, it will include a five-year time jump. But what we didn’t know (until yesterday, Oct. 8) is that when the credits roll during the season premiere, there will be one more Liar standing next to the coffin: Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse)!

Take a look at these revamped credits. While they mostly remain the same—a blonde doll is still getting all glammed up for her funeral to the tune of The Pierces’ “Secret”—the twist is that when the camera pans up from the coffin, Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), and now Alison are all rocking their fresh, grown-up threads and hairstyles. (Spencer’s bangs, though!)

And there’s one more change: Aria is no longer the group’s head shusher. While the credits always closed with the artistic Liar raising one finger to her lips, the fivesome will now take turns each episode rocking the universal symbol for secret-keeping, starting with Emily.
