Queen Latifah is getting ready to turn her chair!

NBC announced on Tuesday, May 12, that Latifah, 56, would be making her coaching debut on The Voice season 30.

Latifah will be joined by fellow first-timer and country music star Riley Green and returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson. Season 30 of the series is set to premiere this fall.

Days before news broke of Latifah joining, NBC confirmed that Clarkson, 44, would be back after initially appearing as a mentor from seasons 14 to 21. She briefly returned for season 23 before leaving the show for her move to New York in the fall of 2023. Clarkson went on to appear on season 29, which concluded in April.

“Team Kelly has RE-entered the chat,” NBC wrote via Instagram on Thursday, May 7. “Kelly Clarkson returns as a coach this fall on The Voice!”

Levine, 47 — whose team reigned victorious during season 29’s “Battle of Champions” — announced his return in April. (Alexia Jayy took home the win after defeating Team Kelly Clarkson’s Mikenley Brown and Liv Ciara and Team John Legend’s Lucas West in the Top 4 finale.)

“I will be back,” Levine told People in a statement at the time. “I’m having so much fun doing it. Since I came back a few seasons ago, it’s just been a blast, and I’m super happy to keep it going as long as they’ll have me.”

Levine, for his part, served as a coach on The Voice from seasons 1 through 16 before exiting the show in 2019.

“I was ready to not be doing it anymore … for a little bit,” Levine said on The Howard Stern Show at the time. “When it all naturally happened, I was like, ‘OK, this feels right.’ For better or worse, the moment in which we decided to walk away felt really good. This was the right time for me to go. For eight and a half years, I was so busy — [I] had the band, [I] had The Voice. I was beyond fortunate to go through all of it because it was a life-altering experience being on that show … and then it got to the point where I got married, I had two kids, and I wanted to spend time with them.” (The Maroon 5 hitmaker shares three kids — daughters Dusty Rose, 9, and Gio Grace, 8, as well as a 3-year-old son, whose name has not been shared publicly — with wife Behati Prinsloo.)

Levine later returned for season 27 in 2025 alongside John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé.

The Voice season 30 premieres on NBC in fall 2026.
