Is “British humor” not actually all that funny? The ladies of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were about to get more firsthand exposure — because on the Tuesday, December 13, episode, many of the women found themselves in the crosshairs of Lisa Vanderpump‘s English wit.
Things still weren’t settled between Vanderpump, Lisa Rinna and Kyle Richards, but because the birthday party must go on — this time, cast newbie Dorit Kemsley was the woman of the hour — everyone found themselves unavoidably together. Again. What could go wrong?
The Two Lisas and Kyle Debrief
Rinna and Kyle caught up while cruising in Kyle’s new Lamborghini (though that paled in comparison to the $230,000 Bentley Dorit’s husband got her for turning 40). Lisa told Kyle that Erika Girardi‘s birthday bash was the first time she’d seen Vanderpump since the blowup, but she added that her perspective on all of these petty arguments had changed a lot since her dad died.
Meanwhile, Vanderpump soothed her battle wounds by riding her new horse. “If you ask me, honestly, do I prefer animals to people, there’s no contest,” she explained to the camera. “I think animals are more loyal.”
Erika Pursues Her Dreams — and So Does Lisa Rinna’s Daughter
It appeared that Erika had recovered from her own birthday soiree enough to work on casting dancers for her 10th music video. After watching a gaggle of insanely talented professional dancers for a few minutes, Erika and her team selected a handful to work with her. (The criteria were largely centered on their hair color and butt size, it seemed.)
Rinna was also busy working on her daughter Delilah’s modeling career. “Delilah is going to castings, meeting photographers,” Rinna gushed. She then asked Delilah to remind her what Cindy Crawford had told her as a piece of advice. “Some pictures are ugly,” Delilah mumbled. Rinna’s other daughter, Amelia, seemed pretty annoyed about the discussion focusing on Delilah’s modeling career, but that is to be expected.
Drama at Dorit’s Birthday Bash
Dorit was stressing about her husband planning the party because she didn’t consider him to be good with details, but it turned out that he was amazing at planning a blowout bash. The party began with a cocktail hour that had a decidedly mellow vibe. “I do hope it’s something else, not just sitting around having drinks in the living room,” Dorit confessed to the cameras. All of the women arrived, including Rinna, Vanderpump, Kyle, Erika and Eileen Davidson. Rinna was impressed before she even got inside because the golf cart that drove her to the front door was so fancy.
Dorit casually mentioned that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony used to own their house, and then Eileen got down to business by hashing things out with Vanderpump.
“I’m sorry,” Vanderpump began. “I didn’t know that your mother died.” Eileen thought she was apologizing for disrespecting her in the Hamptons and consequently started laughing, only later realizing that was not an appropriate response.
Eileen did add that her mother’s passing put things in perspective. “It makes other things seem kind of trivial and inconsequential,” she said. But Vanderpump clarified to the cameras, “Hell will freeze over before I will apologize to Eileen Davidson again.”
Later, on the dance floor, Rinna and Vanderpump made nice. “I’m sorry for treating you and being hard on you, so I will apologize for that,” Rinna said. “I’m not proud of it.” Vanderpump then declared that they could “move on,” much to Rinna’s delight.
Still, Vanderpump gave Rinna a hard time when she asked about the gloves Rinna was wearing, with the Sur boss quipping that she would “never” tell any of her secrets to the actress. The restaurateur also rubbed Eileen the wrong way when Eileen asked where her husband, Vinny, was and Vanderpump joked that she had just seen him “in the corner with his head up somebody’s skirt.” Eileen didn’t think it was that funny.
Dorit’s husband read a sweet note to her in front of everyone about how much he loved her, and Rinna reflected that she didn’t mind being jabbed every now and then by Vanderpump because she was pretty sure “that’s as good as it’s gonna get” between them.
