‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ Recap: Heather Dubrow Unloads on Vicki Gunvalson Amid Kelly Dodd’s Party Chaos

The emotions are as raw as the sushi! On The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Monday, August 15, episode, the feud between Kelly Dodd and Shannon Beador heated up even more. First, they fought at the ’70s party, then they fought during the coffee date they made so they could apologize, next they fought at … well, you’ll see!

Make New Friends, Keep the Old; One Is Silver, and the Other … Isn’t Invited to the Party

The episode started off with Kelly visiting Tamra Judge at her house after being asked to help plan the party that the blonde wanted to throw for Meghan King Edmonds on the eve of her artificial insemination. (“Like a bachelorette party … but for getting pregnant!” Meghan squealed when she found out.) Naturally, Tamra asked Kelly about her ongoing feud with Shannon, and the two appeared to bond as they chatted about Kelly’s hatred for Shannon.

Later, Tamra called Meghan to confirm the guest list for the party. Meghan said she didn’t want Vicki Gunvalson there, but had said days earlier that she wanted Vicki to come. The hormonal Meghan got very emotional on the phone, and she and Tamra argued back and forth. Tamra hung up angrily, realizing she might have to disinvite Vicki.

Can Housewives Have It All?

Heather Dubrow was working on getting back into the swing of television hosting! She explained that she loved her time as a stay-at-home mom but was grateful to have a staff big enough to handle the kids while she pursued the career that makes her “whole.” The talented thesp even got to appear on a panel for an episode of The Doctors.

“I have found my balance between family and work,” she said. Her husband, Terry Dubrow, on the other hand, did not exactly agree.

During her last days as a person who wasn’t pregnant, Meghan was trying to get her family and life balance sorted out, too, which meant visiting a holistic specialist to work on her bloating and fatigue. Since these are the Real Housewives of the OC, Tamra and Shannon were there as well, watching as a practitioner of Eastern medicine prodded Meghan’s belly, and she moaned in pain. Just regular friend bonding!

Everyone Has a Price?

Vicki came over to Kelly’s house, and Kelly mentioned that Shannon’s friend Nina — yes, the one who caused all the fuss at the ’70s party by insulting Kelly — had been spreading the rumor that the newest Housewife, uh, engaged in sexual acts for money. Did you get all that? We know it’s a lot, trust Us — but it only got worse from there!

Kelly claimed she texted Shannon and let her know that Nina could be expecting to get sued for defamation of character if she weren’t careful. Kelly reported that Shannon hadn’t responded yet, but smirked when she said, “We’ll see …”

Shannon didn’t reply to Kelly directly, but the next scene was Shannon calling Tamra to tell her about the threat. It turns out that Kelly’s text had named Tamra as the source of the gossip, so Shannon called to tell her friend how hurt she was to see that she was on Kelly’s side. In a confessional, Tamra sighed and said that Shannon was just victimizing herself, and Tamra didn’t plan to stop being Kelly’s friend over it.

California Rolls, Gossip Moles and a Debate About Souls

Meghan’s party was at a sushi restaurant, and the guest of honor started out the night by being annoyed at Vicki’s presence, even though the OG Housewife brought her a present. If that was awkward, it was nothing compared to the looks that were flying between Kelly and Shannon.

For whatever reason, Meghan decided to ask Kelly about the explosion at the ’70s party. The angrier Kelly got retelling the story, the louder she became, and the more the other women looked at her. Shannon chimed in from across the table that Nina had never called Kelly a prostitute. At the same time, Meghan and Tamra said they’d heard Nina specifically say that Kelly [mouth-related verb] [crotch-related noun] for money, if you get our drift. Whose side are they on, exactly?

Guess what happened next? Everyone started yelling! Again! And yes, this was Kelly and Shannon’s third confrontation! Kelly began sobbing, asking what would happen if her daughter heard people say things like that about her, and as Meghan tried to console her, Kelly hissed, “Wait until you have a child!”

Next, Tamra tried to jump in and calm Kelly down, since Meghan wasn’t getting the job done. Kelly turned on Tamra, calling her a horrible name seconds after she called Shannon an equally horrible name.

Heather stood up, said she was disgusted and claimed she was physically unable to sit while such vulgar things were being said. She turned to Kelly and said, “Leave.” Kelly shot back, “Leave? Who are you, the boss?”

Heather chose to leave instead, and Tamra walked out too. Shannon and Vicki followed them into the hallway, where Heather totally lost it. She told Shannon her husband was out of line when he yelled at Vicki at the ’70s party. She told Vicki she hadn’t done enough yet to make up for supporting Brooks Ayers when he lied about his cancer. She aired out every grievance she had kept inside for two seasons, and it was great.

After Heather walked out of the restaurant, Kelly came out and started yelling. Out of nowhere, she did a complete 180, became sweet and demure, apologized and got a hug from Tamra. Shannon walked away, rolling her eyes, but Tamra followed her, claiming Kelly had the devil in her and needed to be loved extra hard to get the evil out of her. Shannon was skeptical of Tamra’s assessment of Kelly’s soul, but she went with it. We really couldn’t make this up.

Kelly, continuing to drink, started making fun of Heather back inside the party. Heather, meanwhile, was sobbing so hard in the car that she couldn’t tell Terry what happened when she called him.
