The Real Housewives of New York City star Daisy Toye is learning the hard way that reality TV cameras don’t miss a thing.
“I think everybody really loved [Erika Hammond’s island]. I think I was just the only a**hole that had something to say about it,” Daisy, 45, exclusively told Us on Wednesday, October 14. “I was cranky. I was so hungry. We traveled literally for days to get there. It took us 17 hours. It was planes, trains and automobiles to get there — layovers; there was no food in the airport. Like there was nothing.”
When she finally arrived at Erika’s Moskito Island estate in the British Virgin Islands, Daisy confessed she was feeling a little “bitter.”
“I was bitchy,” she admitted. “I couldn’t, like, enjoy the painkillers that they were giving out — the drinks.”
On the October 7 episode of RHONY, cameras captured Daisy and costar Erin Lichy criticizing Erika’s home.

At one point, Daisy said she was “not impressed” by the mansion and claimed her longtime boss and friend Martha Stewart would think it was a “dump.”
Looking back, Daisy — who is a celebrity makeup artist — wishes Erika, 35, didn’t hear any of it.
“I have been everywhere with [Martha], like everywhere, and that was not for her to hear that,” Daisy explained. “By the way, that was, like, on a hot mic, and I was whispering it. It’s not a dump. It’s paradise, you know. So what? I don’t like the furniture, whatever. But I don’t think Martha would think it was a dump.”
In another scene, Daisy was seen questioning Erika about the island and how many people own property.

She insists the line of questioning was not because she was skeptical. Instead, Daisy said she was simply curious to learn more.
“I’ve never been on a private island. I don’t know how it works,” she said. “I think when you’re watching, it’s like, ‘Oh s***. Daisy’s going in.’ But I literally was just asking questions. I don’t know how this works. Do you all buy the island, and how do you tax it? I had valid questions. Everybody that I’m talking to was like, ‘I had the same questions. I didn’t know how it works.’”
Moskito Island was originally bought by Richard Branson and is now owned by nine families, including Erika and her husband, Ankur Jain, and his family.
“We all pay for the island, so we all have a share,” Erika explained on a recent episode. “We all share the beach. We all share the tennis courts. We all pay for, like, ‘HOAs’ of the island.”
The Real Housewives of New York City airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. Stream new episodes the next day on Peacock.
