Some friendly — or flirty — joking. Rihanna and Blake Shelton engaged in some heavy flirting on the Monday, Nov. 2, episode of The Voice, but it didn’t go so well for the country hunk.
It started innocently enough, when the Voice coach, 39, and the pop star, 27, bantered over nicknames for each other.
“I think you should reconsider my nickname for you, ‘Anna,’” the country singer told the Barbadian songstress. “Or do you like RiRi?”
“RiRi is not new!” the “Umbrella” singer shot back. “You thought you were so brilliant!”
Miranda Lambert’s ex-husband coyly replied, “I thought of that nickname years ago, because I am a fan.”
The two both praised a pretty female contestant on the country crooner’s Team Blake, and as she walked away after advancing, Shelton cracked that “she should work on being cuter.”
Quickly, Rihanna quipped, “Says the ugly guy,” while laughing.
The “FourFiveSeconds” singer joined the hit NBC reality show this season as the advisor to Shelton, along with the three other show coaches — Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, and Adam Levine.
