Rod Stewart has canceled upcoming tour dates amid his recovery from a recent heart procedure.
“Following further medical evaluation, Sir Rod Stewart has successfully undergone a routine coronary stent procedure,” read a statement shared via Instagram on Tuesday, August 11. “Doctors are pleased with his recovery, and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities.”
The statement continued, “On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage. Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to continue his current tour dates.”
Stewart, 81, was scheduled to perform six residency shows in Las Vegas this month. His tour was set to continue through September.
“Information regarding affected performances will be communicated by the respective promoters and venues,” the statement concluded.
In a separate message, Stewart assured fans that he was “already feeling better and very much on the mend” following his procedure.
“I want to thank the doctors, nurses and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me,” he added. “I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon.”
Ahead of the announcement, Stewart abruptly postponed his concert in Cincinnati, which was set to take place Sunday, August 9, due to “an unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention.”
The concert was eventually canceled. “Rod is disappointed to miss the show and appreciates everyone’s understanding. He looks forward to returning to the stage soon,” read a statement shared by Cincinnati’s Rocket Arena.
Stewart’s One Last Time tour kicked off in March 2025. He previously canceled a show on the advice of his doctors in June. Later that month, he took a break during a performance in Utah to use an oxygen tank.
In video footage shared by TMZ at the time, Stewart was seen doubling over, later telling the audience that he nearly fainted.
“Would you mind if I sat down for this one?” he quipped before carrying on with his show.
During a recent interview on the U.K.’s TalkSport, Stewart hinted that he was ready to take some time away from the road.
“I’ve got 40-odd shows this year and that’s not really a lot,” he said in May. “And I’m touring the U.K. next year and doing the O2 and that will probably be it, I think. I’ll have to do something new … come on your show more often.”
