Sabrina Carpenter had an epic surprise for the attendees of her second set at the 2026 Coachella Music & Arts Festival — a duet with the inimitable Madonna.

Carpenter, 26, headlined the Indio, California, music festival on Friday, April 17, where she performed her biggest hits from Short ‘n Sweet and Man’s Best Friend. Before demonstrating her “Juno” position of the night, Madonna, 67, strutted onstage to her song “Vogue.”

Together, Carpenter and Madonna sang “Vogue,” “Like a Prayer” and an unreleased track for the lucky concertgoers.

“Twenty years ago today, I performed at Coachella,” Madonna said during the show, per social media footage. “I was in the dance tent and it was the first time I performed Confessions on the Dance Floor Part I in America, and that was such a thrill for me. So, you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later. Twenty years later in the same boots, in the same corset. … It’s, like, a full-circle moment, you know?”

Madonna made her Coachella debut in 2006 and returned nine years later as a special guest during Drake’s 2015 show.

“The great thing about music is that it brings people together. Am I right?” Madonna added on Friday, per Variety. “It’s the one place that people have to put their differences aside. Put their s*** down and everyone just has a good time together, right? I am thrilled to be a part of that healing experience of bringing people together.”

She continued, “I just want to say, four lines from my Confessions 1 record. It goes like this. ‘Can we get together? I really, I really want to be with you. Come on, check it out with me, I hope you, I hope you feel the same way too.’”

Madonna recently announced her next album ahead of the festival surprise.

Confessions On A Dance Floor: Part II — July 3 2026,” the pop icon wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, April 15, sharing the cover art where she sported a silk camisole and wrapped a coordinating scarf over her head.

Madonna later shared a snippet of her song “I Feel So Free” via social media on Saturday, April 18, writing, “C’mon meet me on the dance floor.”

Carpenter, who performed at Coachella for the first time in 2024, also headlined Weekend 1 earlier this month. The set, however, sparked backlash after the Grammy winner misheard a fan’s cultural zaghrouta cheer as a so-called “weird” yodel.

“My apologies I didn’t see this person with my eyes and couldn’t hear clearly,” Carpenter tweeted on April 11. “My reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended. Could have handled it better! Now I know what a Zaghrouta is! I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out.”
