Scandal’s Joe Morton Reads Fan Tweets About Himself — in His Frightening Papa Pope Voice!

Papa Pope approves! Scandal's Joe Morton (Eli Pope) channels his nefarious government-agent character while reading fan tweets for Us Weekly Video.

"Papa Pope makes my palms all sweaty, my heart [beat] a lot faster and my eyes widen like a deer in headlights," the actor, 68, says as he reads one tweet.

Morton, also known for such series as CBS' The Good Wife and TNT's Proof, told Us Weekly in a previous video that his busy travel schedule and all-day shoots can sometimes take their toll.

Describing a time when he was filming an episode from Scandal's fourth season, he said with a laugh, "There was a scene between Olivia and Maya — between Kerry [Washington] and Khandi Alexander — and I had no dialogue, and I was supposed to be unconscious, and I fell asleep."

Watch Morton transform as he reads the tweets in the video above!

Scandal airs on ABC on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
