Emily Maynard is ready to find love again!
One year after famously being jilted by Brad Womack on The Bachelor, single mom Maynard, 26, is getting a second chance at love on ABC’s Bachelorette.
Premiering May 14, Maynard’s season — which follows that of Ashley Hebert — will find the West Virginia native wining and dining 25 eligible bachelors in hopes of snagging The One.
When the series kicks off, Maynard will meet her potential suitors in her hometown of Charlotte, N.C., where she lives with her daughter, Ricki, 6.
On March 16, Maynard enjoyed her first one-on-one date as the new bachelorette, dining at local Italian eatery Osso with a contestant show insiders have identified as Ryan Bowers, 31, an Atlanta-based gym owner. After dinner, the pair danced the night away at a concert by Gloriana, one of Maynard’s favorite bands.
An insider tells Us Weekly Maynard was hesitant to begin production on The Bachelorette. “She’s excited, but she’s also scared about it,” the source explains. “She’s very shy, and it’s hard to put herself out there again.”
