Stringer Bell as the next 007?
Idris Elba is supposedly in the running to be the next James Bond — replacing Daniel Craig in an iconic movie role that has also been played by Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, among others.
"It's a rumor," Elba, 39, recently told NPR. But the hunky, British star of HBO's The Wire and BBC's Luther, plus flicks like Obsessed and Thor, wouldn't necessarily turn down the chance to play the sexy SSI agent — but he has some reservations.
"I just don't want to be the black James Bond," he explains. "Sean Connery wasn't the Scottish James Bond, and Daniel Craig wasn't the blue-eyed James Bond, so if I played him, I don't want to be called the black James Bond."
Still, admits the married actor: "I'd definitely consider it," he says, adding cheekily: "I'm never shaken or stirred."
