Sister Wives’ Meri Brown breaks down the wildest DMs she’s received since her split from ex-husband Kody Brown — including a handful of proposals.
“There’s been a couple of times since I’ve been dating that people have reached out to me on the socials basically saying, ‘Hey, we’d love to have you in our family,’” Meri, 55, reveals in Us’ exclusive sneak peek at the Sunday, October 25, episode of the TLC reality series.
Meri, who confirmed her breakup from Kody, 57, in January 2023 after more than 30 years together, admits she’s had “all kinds” of messages from polygamists wanting her to join their family unit.
“I’ve had families reach out to me, like, a wife saying that her and her husband are looking and would be interested,” she shares. “I’ve had a man who said he and his wife really like me.”
Meri notes that polygamists aren’t the only people sliding into her DMs in hopes of a romantic relationship.
“I get proposed to, I swear, on a weekly basis,” she says. “You know, I had an e-mail just the other day where a guy, you know, sent a message and it’s the weirdest thing. It’s the weirdest thing.”
Elsewhere in the clip, Meri sheds light on her dating life while doing a form of speed dating outdoors.
“When I was chatting with Eric, like, he was kind of fun. He was a very outgoing guy,” Meri explains, referring to one of her matches. “But if somebody is interested, they’re going to make it known. And I didn’t make it known and he didn’t make it known. And I was OK with that.”
Meri’s love life has been a topic of conversation following her and Kody’s separation. The former couple tied the knot in 1990 and quickly expanded their plural family in 1993 and 1994 with sister wives Janelle Brown and Christine Brown, respectively.
One year later, Meri welcomed her only child, Leon, now 31, with Kody. Thanks to Janelle, 57, and Christine, 54, Meri is also a second mom to their combined 12 children.
In 2010, Kody spiritually married his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, which fans watched play out on season 1 of Sister Wives.
Four years later, Kody legally divorced Meri so he could legally wed Robyn, 48, and adopt her three children from a prior marriage. (Kody and Robyn later welcomed two of their own biological children.)
The Brown family took fans by surprise in November 2021 when Christine announced her split from Kody after more than 25 years of spiritual marriage.
Janelle announced in December 2022 that she and Kody had been separated for a few months. Meri confirmed her split from Kody the following month.
Robyn and Kody are still married, but they opted not to return to Sister Wives for the current season.
Christine has since married David Woolley, saying, “I do” in October 2023. Janelle, for her part, revealed in August that she is dating a man named Pete.
Meri, meanwhile, shared in January 2024 that she had quietly been seeing a man named Amos since October 2023. The couple called it quits in February 2024.
During season 20 of Sister Wives, Meri formed a connection with a man named Ron. She revealed during the season 21 premiere that the pair were strictly platonic but she wasn’t opposed to the possibility of their relationship turning romantic.
