‘SNL’ Cold Open Presidential Debate Video Stars Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin: Video

If you watched the third and final presidential debate earlier this week and thought, I can’t wait to see what Saturday Night Live does with this, then you’re in luck because the NBC comedy show delivered the goods on Saturday, October 22, with a little help from Tom Hanks.

All the crazy moments from the showdown in Sin City on Wednesday, October 19, were reprised by Alec Baldwin (as Donald Trump), Kate McKinnon (as Hillary Clinton) and guest host Hanks (as moderator Chris Wallace).

The sketch kicked off with Wallace introducing the third and final debate by saying it was like the third Lord of the Rings movie: “You don’t really want to watch, but hey, you’ve come this far.”

The Republican presidential candidate took to the stage in a seemingly subdued mood. “I’m going to start this debate in the quietest voice possible,” he said. “In the past, I have been big and loud, but tonight I am a sweet little baby Trump.”

But that lasted for just a few seconds. As the issue of reproductive rights was raised, he yelled, “They are ripping babies out of vaginas!”

A look of horror crossed Clinton’s face before she said, “What two better people are there to talk about women’s issues? Me, a woman who has had a child and has taken birth control, and him, a man who is a child and whose face is birth control.”

The next topic was immigration, and as Trump began to talk about the “bad hombres” pouring over the U.S. borders, Clinton yelled “Bingo!” and held up a Trump bingo card with phrases like “If she wasn’t my daughter” and “Miss Piggy” circled.

Then Trump threw in a few “trademarked” words like “Wrong!” and “Liar!” and some loud sniffs before Wallace brought up Clinton’s email controversy. Rather than answer his question, she pivoted to talking “about the way that Donald treats women.”

“Nobody has more respect for women than I do,” Trump insisted as the camera panned across an auditorium full of people laughing, and then cut to a shot of the Earth, with everybody laughing.

“All right, settle down, entire planet,” Wallace said, holding up his hand.

Clinton then listed some of her achievements over the past 30 years, culminating in taking down Osama bin Laden.

“She can brag about her résumé, but I’m the one that’s got all the heavy hitters supporting me,” Trump countered. “I’ve got the cream of the crop. I’ve got Sarah Palin, I’ve got Chachi and, get this, I’ve even got the best Baldwin brother, Stephen Baldwin.”
