Reality is setting in. In episode 5 of Teen Mom 3, Briana DeJesus has a heart to heart with her mother on how she feels like a burden, always having to count on her mom and sister Brittany while trying to get by as a single mother now that her baby daddy, Devoin Austin, is out of the picture.
“I would have thought that Devoin would be around and I would have had some time for myself to do things and go to school, go to work. But it turned out completely opposite,” the 19-year-old said. “I’m so lucky to have you and Brittany around because without you guys I don’t know what I would do.”
After the birth of her daughter Nova, 2, in Sept. 2011, then boyfriend Austin called it quits with the reality star, making her feel even more like a nuisance back home.
“I don’t want to pressure you guys or make it seem like I need your help,” the Orlando, Fla., native added. “I feel like I’m a burden on you guys.”
But as her mom points out, family is what’s important in tough times. “We’re a family and we have to take care of one another,” she replied to the tearful first-time mom. “You’re my daughter. I will do whatever I have to do to make sure you’re okay.”
