Finally! The Rock has come back to…Baywatch? Dwayne Johnson confirmed rumors that he will be starring in an upcoming movie based on the lifeguard drama series via Instagram on Thursday, Oct. 2.
"'This is my beach bitch!' Rumors are true… we're making #BAYWATCH the movie," the former WWE wrestler, 42, captioned a shirtless picture of himself on a jet ski.
"Edgy, raunchy and hopefully, funny as all hell," he continued. "Cue slo mo running on the beach…#WhoNeedsMouthToMouth #RedShortsBeHugginABrotha."
Just hours earlier, The Hollywood Reporter announced that the actor was "loosely attached" to the project, and Sean Anders and John Morris were set to to direct.
Baywatch ran from 1989 to 2001 and starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. Paramount Studios has been trying to get started on a big-screen adaptation of the series for years.
