Missing her already! Nina Dobrev said her final goodbye to The Vampire Diaries on the season 6 finale earlier this month, but the reality is still setting in for her costars. Us Weekly caught up with Candice Accola and Kat Graham at The CW Upfronts in NYC on May 14, where they shared their favorite Dobrev moments, and recalled her final table read.
“I can understand as a TV viewer how emotional it is, because I get very emotional with my television,” Accola, 28, told Us. Graham added: “We barely got through it! It was very difficult.”
Dobrev, 26, played leading lady Elena Gilbert on the vampire drama since its 2009 pilot. (Graham, 25, teased that Dobrev was very “stoic” and “reserved” at the time!) Accola and Graham played her BFFs Caroline Forbes and Bonnie Bennett, respectively.
The Degrassi alum announced last month that she would be exiting the series. Elena’s farewell was an emotional roller coaster, which left Mystic Falls in shambles.
“Elena is the heart of the series. It is bittersweet but it’s also exciting,” Accola told Us. “We’ve all become a family one way or another and you are excited to see people you care about move on to different endeavors.”
Accola and Graham also revealed if they are Delena or Stelena fans, described Dobrev in three words, and more!
