‘Vanderpump Rules’ Recap: Lisa Vanderpump Fires James Kennedy From Sur, Tom Schwartz Goes Behind Katie Maloney’s Back

The last straw for Lisa! On the Monday, November 28, episode of Vanderpump Rules, James Kennedy had another drunken outburst while on the job, but this time, Lisa Vanderpump finally lost her cool.

James Has a New Boo

Love — or lust? — is in the air. James revealed that he has a new woman in his life who he almost loves as much as himself: his girlfriend, Raquel Leviss. The pair met at PUMP on News Year’s Eve while James was DJing.

“I played a little Beyoncé, and I wound up with a girlfriend,” James cheekily explained.

Raquel flew out to West Hollywood to stay with James in his teeny one-room rental, where they had to “bump pee-pees behind a screen,” as Lala Kent so eloquently put it. As the couple sipped champagne and caught up, Raquel confessed that she noticed that James had his fair share of haters. James brushed off her comment and blamed any bad vibes on people’s jealousy.

“I’m not serving fried chicken, and they hate that,” James insisted.

Scheana Shuts It Down

Katie Maloney, Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder met up for an afternoon gossip session. As the ladies chatted over lunch, Kristen mentioned that Scheana Shay was still hurt that Katie attacked her over her “rekindled friendship” with Lala. The group found it odd and frustrating that Scheana remained so defensive.

“It’s a loyalty thing,” Stassi suggested.

But Scheana felt it was an alcohol thing. “When Katie’s drunk, she’s irrational,” Scheana told Brittany Cartwright at work. “She accused me, like, four times of saying something I absolutely did not say.”

As Scheana filled Brittany in on the drama, Lala came strolling into Sur. The hostess suspiciously started making small talk with the girls. In an effort to avoid the wrath of “Tequila Katie,” Scheana quickly shut down Lala’s phony friendliness.

“I’m really not trying to be a bitch,” Scheana told Lala. “It’s just that Katie is one of my best friends. I’m happy to say hello to you and be professional. It’s just the conversation, it makes me uncomfortable.”

After walking away from Lala, Scheana sent a text to Kristen to tell her about the awkward confrontation. Kristen, Katie and Stassi responded to the news with a slow clap.

“I’m very proud of Scheana for finally telling Lala off,” Stassi said before adding, “But she should’ve done that from the beginning.”

Last Call for James Kennedy

Sur’s restaurant manager hunted down Lisa to tell her that James had been continually showing up to work drunk. Visibly disappointed, Lisa said all she needed was evidence that James had been drinking on the job — and right on cue, a tipsy James waltzed into work.

The belligerent DJ exploded almost immediately when he found out that the restaurant’s new hostess was telling their coworkers that she hooked up with James. Infuriated, James made a scene and called his rumored lover a whore.

Naturally Jax Taylor was thrilled to find James in the midst of a scandal. Instead of spreading sex rumors about his own girlfriend, Jax said his new mission was to make sure James’ girlfriend found out about the cheating.

“Maybe one of the reasons why Jax doesn’t like James is because he feels like he’s looking at himself 10 years ago, and he doesn’t like what he sees,” fellow bartender Tom Sandoval wondered.

Like Jax, Lala also found the James drama incredibly entertaining. “The only thing I can think about is, thank God rumors are being spread about somebody that is not me,” Lala laughed.

Lisa, on the other hand, was not so happy. “Play your little discs, and shut up,” she barked at a drunk James.

But the DJ just couldn’t let the drama die. He decided to push Lisa’s buttons one more time and took a shot of whiskey with Tom, which led to a drunken argument with Lisa’s husband, Ken Todd.

James narrowly avoided an outdoor brawl with Ken, but the major slip-up cost him: Lisa finally fired James.

Cold Feet

Nervous about his upcoming wedding, Tom Schwartz sought out a therapist to help him sort through some of his pre-marriage jitters. Throwback clips of his intoxicated arguments with Katie flashed across the screen as the groom-to-be revealed that he was too scared to tell his fiancée about going to therapy.

Schwartz insisted that alcohol was always the catalyst for the low points in their relationship. “It kills the Schwartz,” as he claimed. When Schwartz’s therapist asked if he’s ready to get married, he answered with a high-pitched, uncomfortable, “Yeah…”

It didn’t take long for Schwartz to realize he needed to discuss his feelings with Katie. Schwartz headed home to talk to his future wife — but he found her already a few drinks deep.

Ignoring Katie’s glass of wine, Schwartz decided to bring up therapy. But Katie immediately became upset and accused him of never listening to her. “It’s like being in a relationship with the f–king wall,” she said as tears welled up in her eyes. Conversation over.

Schwartz remained frustrated by Katie’s alcohol-fueled “dark side,” but that didn’t deter him from going behind Katie’s back and asking Ariana Madix to be one of his groomsmen — even though the bride made it very clear she didn’t want Ariana in her wedding party.

Uh-oh. Welcome back, Katie’s dark side!

Tell Us: Did Schwartz just make a huge mistake by asking Ariana to be his groomsman?

Vanderpump Rules airs on Bravo Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
