Britney Spears Makes an Epic Return to the MTV Video Music Awards Stage: Watch Her Sexy Performance!

She’s back, bitch! Britney Spears made an epic return to the MTV Video Music Awards at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, August 28, and slayed with a sexy performance of “Make Me…” (the first single from her ninth studio album, Glory) with a little help from G-Eazy.

Kim Kardashian, who is admittedly “obsessed” with Spears, 34, introduced the superstar by saying, “Tonight we have the pleasure of seeing what she’ll do next. Ladies and gentleman, making her triumphant return to the VMAs stage — it’s Britney, bitch!”

Flaunting her insanely fit frame in a glittering yellow, skin-baring bodysuit, the undisputed Princess of Pop wowed the celeb-packed crowd with a lively rendition of her new tune as she joined her dancers to execute some killer choreography. When G-Eazy came to join Brit, the two engaged in a flirty moment when the singer appeared to grab the rapper’s crotch. She then launched into the hip-hop star’s hit “Me, Myself & I,” singing Bebe Rexha‘s part. The duo transitioned back into “Make Me” and embraced each other before Spears pecked G-Eazy on the cheek.

The music magnate — whose performances have been a staple at the awards show since she first lit up the VMAs stage in 1999 with her iconic first hit, “Baby One More Time” — didn’t disappoint as she gave it her all once again Sunday night.

The last time Spears performed at the VMAs was in 2007, when — after a series of personal setbacks and a highly publicized head-shaving breakdown — she attempted to make a comeback by opening the show with “Gimme More,” the lead single from her critically acclaimed album Blackout. Despite her efforts, the mom of two was criticized for her lack of enthusiasm and disoriented appearance.

However, the Grammy winner’s pre-2007 performances were widely celebrated. Two years before she stole the show by kissing Madonna, she electrified the audience in 2001 with a sizzling performance of “I’m a Slave 4 U” when she famously (and bravely!) danced onstage with a yellow python.

Before her sensual snake number, Spears treated fans to a much-talked-about medley of her classic “Oops! … I Did It Again” and a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” at the pop culture event in 2000. Spears — who was 18 at the time — stirred up controversy for ripping off a relatively conservative pantsuit during her performance to reveal a sparkling, nude ensemble.

Days before her highly anticipated performance at this year’s show, the singer admitted that she was feeling a bit anxious.

“I think there’s something in the air at the VMAs. It’s, like, electric. I can’t really explain it,” Spears told 103.5 KTU’s Cubby and Carolina in the Morning on Friday, August 26. “Every time I’ve performed there, it’s always been one of those really big, nerve-wracking experiences, and the people who come — those celebrities — are just so much fun and different. … I still get very nervous.”
