Did Fox’s Grease: Live leave you “Hopelessly Devoted” to live televised musicals? Did the “electrifying” numbers make you think “There Are Worse Things I Could Do” than watch this on a Sunday night? You are not alone!
The network’s debut live musical earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike, as stars Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens, Keke Palmer, Carly Rae Jepsen and more belted, danced and shimmied through the night.
After the heartbreaking loss of her father the night before the broadcast began, Hudgens stole the show with her cool and controlled performance as Rizzo. But she certainly wasn’t the only one to shine.
Here are the five best performances from Grease: Live:

1. “There Are Worse Things I Could Do”
All eyes were on Hudgens as the High School Musical alum belted out the emotionally complex ballad. Rizzo, who is stuck in her own tough girl image, sings about how she’s perceived by her peers after a pregnancy scare. Hudgens didn’t just deliver, she captivated.

2. “Hopelessly Devoted”
Though she got a chance to show off her pipes early on, Hough wowed during her breakout solo “Hopelessly Devoted.” The Dancing With the Stars alum’s wide vocal range was unexpected and well received.

3. “You’re the One That I Want”
Sure, they weren’t outside at a fun end-of-year carnival, but the cast still navigated this high-energy hit as the new, made-over Sandy (Hough) showed off her edgier look to a disbelieving Danny (Tveit). It maintained the magic of the moment that the 1978 movie made iconic.

4. “Summer Nights”
As introductions go, this one hit it out of the park! As Sandy first comes to Rydell High and meets the Pink Ladies, she waxes nostalgic about her summer romance with Danny. The contrasting stories and pelvis-thrusting dance moves immediately set the mood for the evening.

5. “Greased Lightnin’”
There is no Grease without “Greased Lightnin’”! The T-Birds, headed up by Danny, showed off their dance moves for this number, making full use of the stage to transform their car into the fantastical “Greased Lightnin’.” Yes, they were a little out of breath, but you would be too!
