Several Secret Lives of Mormon Wives couples have been going through some changes off camera — but where does each couple stand before season 6?
When the show premiered on Hulu in 2024, viewers were introduced to Jen Affleck and husband Zac Affleck, Demi Engemann and husband Bret Engemann, Whitney Leavitt and husband Conner Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews and husband Jace Terry, Mayci Neeley and husband Jacob Neeley, Jessi Draper and husband Jordan Ngatikaura, Taylor Frankie Paul and then-partner Dakota Mortensen and Layla Taylor. (Miranda McWhorter later joined the show in season 2 after her split from Chase McWhorter.)
Demi and Whitney have since exited the show with their respective partners. The other couples have faced their fair share of ups and downs on screen — especially during season 5. The condensed season was released months after production was paused in May 2026 amid Taylor and Dakota’s domestic dispute.

Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen
Throughout the seasons, Taylor and Dakota were together off-and-on while coparenting their son, Ever. Season 5 documented the aftermath of Taylor leading The Bachelorette season 22, during which she got engaged to Doug Mason. In March, news broke that Mormon Wives halted production after Taylor and Dakota were involved in a domestic violence dispute while filming.
They are currently not dating amid their legal back and forth.
Jessi Draper and Jordan Ngatikaura
While viewers know that Jessi and Jordan are no longer together, season 5 showed the couple still trying to make things work weeks before their divorce filing. Those closest to Jessi, however, made it clear they didn’t see her staying with Jordan for long.
Jessi is now dating Vanderpump Villa’s Marciano Brunette, who made a brief cameo in the fifth season of Mormon Wives.
Whitney and Conner Leavitt
Whitney and Conner made minimal appearances in season 5. Their family of five appeared to be thriving after relocating to New York City for Whitney’s Broadway run.
Jen and Zac Affleck
The first season of Mormon Wives highlighted the challenges in Jen and Zac’s marriage, which eventually led to an offscreen separation. They got back together before welcoming daughter Penelope in July 2025.
Season 5 showed Jen and Zac at odds over her career choices, such as investing in music equipment and considering a photo shoot for Sports Illustrated. Jen admitted she was once again questioning her future with Zac, which came months before she announced her pregnancy with baby No. 4.
Mikayla Matthews and Jace Terry
After welcoming their fourth baby, Mikayla and Jace decided to separate during season 4 of the hit Hulu series. Season 5 picked up with them back together after an offscreen reconciliation.
Mayci and Jacob Neeley
The duo have been married since 2018 and are parents of three. Jacob expressed interest in expanding their family again, but Mayci wasn’t as onboard with the idea despite her sister McCall DaPron — who is starring on the upcoming Mormon Wives OC spinoff — encouraging her to have more kids soon.
Layla Taylor and Mason McWhorter
Layla’s relationship with Mason was brought up in season 5 when her friends questioned how much money she was spending on him — only for it not to be reciprocated. Layla mentioned it to Mason, and they broke up days later.
The reality star has since found love with Kelsie Chessner after coming out as bisexual.
