Hold her closer, Tony Danza! New York City played host to a mini Who’s the Boss? reunion on Thursday, Oct. 23, when Danza and his former costar Judith Light crossed paths under the bright lights of Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre.
The Golden Globe-nominated actor, 63, and the Emmy-nominated actress, 65, reunited at the opening of Disgraced, a new play starring Josh Radnor and Gretchen Mol. Both wore black blazers and matching grins as they embraced and posed for photos outside the show.
Incidentally, the Great White Way was the site of a different reunion between the two almost exactly four years ago. Back in 2010, Light appeared in Lombardi, a play about Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi. (She played his wife, Marie.) Danza paid a visit to the show on Oct. 27 of that year, posing backstage with his former on-screen love interest.
Light will be able to return the favor beginning next month, when the Taxi actor takes the stage in a new Broadway musical. “1st day of rehearsals for Honeymoon in Vegas!” he tweeted on Oct. 7. “Incredibly excited and grateful to be a part of such a talented company.”
Danza and Light costarred on Who’s the Boss? for eight seasons, from 1984 to 1992. The ABC sitcom — about a retired baseball player, Tony, who becomes a live-in housekeeper for a divorcee named Angela — also featured Katherine Helmond, Danny Pintauro, and a fresh-faced Alyssa Milano, who was just 11 years old when the series started.
